Dene Annex Apartments, Shincliffe, Durham, DH1 2PA

Situated in the picturesque village of Shincliffe, yet within walking distance of the historic city of Durham, Dene Annex is a fantastic choice for both leisure and business trips and for visiting parents/friends of Durham University students.

The Annex is to the rear of a large house but it is very private.  It has it's own entrance and post box and has access to the gardens including a separate seating area. There is also a toilet and shower room on this level.

Up the stairs lies a spacious bedroom with a luxurious superking sleigh bed for the perfect night’s sleep.  This level also boasts a bathroom with WC and bath (with shower over). Please note there is no dishwasher.

With a population of less than 2000, Shincliffe is situated on the banks of the River Wear and the location is ideal for country and riverside walks.  It boasts 3 pubs within easy walking distance, all of which serve food. 

Durham City, is only 2 miles away, which was Voted ‘One of the Best Cities in the World to Visit in 2020’ by The Independent and voted The Best City in the UK' . Durham has the perfect blend of medieval heritage yet it has modern, vibrant feel. The cobbled streets are peppered with restaurants, bars, pubs and shops. Take a leisurely stroll near the River Wear which continues on past Durham Cathedral and the 900 year old Durham Castle.

Booking Terms

Check In

Check-in is from 4pm on the day of arrival. Please contact us prior to arrival to confirm key collection details as the property does not offer a 24/7 reception desk or doorman. Early check-in may be possible on request for an additional fee but is subject to availability.

Check Out

Check-out is by 11am on the day of departure. Late check-out may be possible on request for an additional fee but is subject to availability. On departure please be sure that you close the door securely behind you.

Cancellation

The Cancellation policy for these apartments is as follows:

All bookings must be cancelled by 4pm, 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid any charges. Failure to do so will result in a one night charge being made. Any refund of charges is made subject to the apartment being re-let. 

If a guest wishes to alter a booking, Prestige Apartments will make every effort to meet their requirements. However, additional expenses incurred as a result of the alteration may be charged. In addition, a charge may be incurred for an amendment fee of £50 plus VAT to cover the necessary administrative costs incurred.

In the event that a guest needs to check out prior to the agreed departure date, we will make every effort to obtain a refund of accommodation charges for the remainder of the stay. However, any refund will be subject to the apartment being re-let and will be subject to a cancellation charge of £50.00 + VAT.

Payment

For stays of less than 30 nights full payment will be due at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. If credit facilities are agreed then for stays of 30+ nights a minimum payment equal to the first months’ rental will be due at least 2 weeks prior to arrival| otherwise full payment for the booking will be required.

If a special or reduced rate has been agreed for a long term booking of over 60 nights then the landlord reserves the right to charge the full published rate backdated to the start of the booking if notice is given to leave early, even if notice is given within the time frames specified above.

Security Deposit

On booking the client will be asked to complete and sign a credit card authorisation form and to provide a copy of photographic ID, either passport, driving licence or photo ID card.

Extension Policy

Please provide us within at least 14 days, written notice to apply for an extension to the reserved moving-out date. Prestige Apartments will endeavour to grant any requests for such extensions however this will be strictly subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. An alternative apartment may be offered if the apartment that was initially booked is unavailable for all or any part of the extension period.
