Elsa's PROPERTY REVIEW - stunning SUSSEX GARDENS in LONDON
I’ve been in love with West London and Notting Hill since 2004 and I still have to pinch myself sometimes when walking into beautiful Kensington Gardens and the Italian Gardens from Bayswater, just off Lancaster Gate.
Having seen Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts fall in love in the eponymous movie, and never tiring of walking around yearning for the area’s fabulous houses, it really is a favourite part of town for me. Being a romantic (just none of the too cheesy stuff please!) and a having a love for photography, I always feel a lovely sense of calmness walking around in West London. And this is despite the fact you’re still just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of town. So with all that in mind I gladly volunteered to go and view the apartments we offer at Sussex Gardens by GoNative, when they very kindly sent us an invitation for a little afternoon visit out and about.
Jumping on the Central Line you get off at Lancaster Gate, come out of the station, turn left, walk for two minutes and ‘voila’ there you have it, Sussex Gardens, such a great location!
Having some nice local pubs and restaurants just around the corner (and with both Hyde Park and The Italian Gardens just a five minute walk away), the property has a brilliant central location. With the important Central Line close by and with several buses stopping down at Bayswater Road, you’ve got easy access to other areas of London and can also be back in the centre of town in no time! And heading west of course, you have Notting Hill on your doorstep and all those lovely romantic streets we talked about earlier.
Stepping in to the property, you’re immediately greeted by a kindly face in the reception area, which is manned 24 hours so you know that you’ll always have someone around to help you. In the stylish reception area there are some nice couches and armchairs and a great selection of the newspapers of the day, which is great if (like me) you want to rest your feet for a couple of minutes before finding the strength to head up to the apartment! Or perhaps having to wait while your partner is fixing their hair/nails/ironing their suit or whatever the excuse!
For the purposes of my visit we had a couple of apartments to go through at Sussex Gardens and first up was a Classic one-bedroom on the lower ground floor. For many, lower ground floor apartments are not their first choice, but with these you didn’t get the feeling of being on the lower ground at all. With enormous windows, pretty much from floor to ceiling, you get a lot of light in, and aren’t prompted to think of where the apartment is located.
Next up was a two-bed on the ‘Wood Floor’. At Sussex there’s a different theme for each floor and this was a lovely apartment that I immediately fell in love with! The décor and colour scheme of the apartment was lovely and with the second bedroom on a second floor the layout of the apartment was charming.
Last up on the list were another two one-beds (their respective themes were ‘Playful’ with lots of colours and cartoon prints and ‘Hollywood Glamour’ with gold ‘n glitz and richer colours), and I by this I can conclude that there really is something for everyone at Sussex Gardens!
