Choosing The Perfect Serviced Apartment!
Friday March 14, 2014 by Alex Wood
So, you know what a hotel does, and now you know what a serviced apartment does.
But just what are the key things you need to consider when booking your serviced apartment?
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...
That old cliché. Yes, we know...but location really is that important. There's no point in having the cheapest apartment, or indeed the most expensive, if you're not where you want to be. In fact make that "need to be". If you're in London for instance, it's vital to make sure that your chosen apartment is on a good tube line (or alternative transport link) to the places you want to visit. If you're working, the proximity to the office is paramount. If you don't know the area ask your booking agent (that's us) for advice when planning your stay, because a bit of local knowledge goes a long way!
APARTMENT AMENITIES...
Serviced apartments don't have an efficient grading system like hotels do, so it's important to make sure that you pick one with the amenities you'll need. If like me, you simply have to log on as soon as you arrive to pick up emails, or (again, like me) do some social media bragging, then make sure you request free wifi. For families a full kitchen is an essential so that kids can be fed and watered at any time! The size and quality of kitchens can vary enormously so just let your booking agent (still us) know if there's anything in particular that you'll be needing.
SLEEPING OPTIONS...
Apartments are great for family groups or friends because of the flexibility of the sleeping arrangements on offer. Instead of splitting your group between hotel rooms you can book a one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed, or a two bed apartment or if necessary, something even larger that'll enable you to keep everyone together. Make sure to let the agent (I'm not gonna say it...) know how many people are in your group and they'll be able to advise you on the best options available.
A TRUSTWORTHY AGENT...
What have we been saying all along! With internet fraud on the increase you need to know that you're dealing with someone you can trust. Look for an agent who's a member of a recognised industry body such as the HBAA, and they'll be pre-vetted for you and will have to conform to an industry code of conduct. Make sure to check with your agent what organisations they belong to, or look for the HBAA logo on their website.
PRESTIGE APARTMENTS HAVE A TEAM OF EXPERT AND HELPFUL PEOPLE!
